Temple Emek Shalom is proud to invite the larger community to join us for two weekly Jewish Meditation sits, and also for selected retreats.

Every Wednesday morning from 8:00 till 8:45am, we gather in the TES library together for Jewish meditation practice. Each session consists of an initial short teaching/kavannah from Rabbi Joshua, and then a half an hour silent sit. All levels of experience are welcome.IMG_2688 copy

There is another weekly opportunity to feel the powerful benefits of meditating with a group, on Fridays from 3:00-3:45pm at Rose Yoga (685 A Street, Ashland). The rabbi, or lay-leader, offers a teaching, and then we will sit together in silence for 30 minutes. It is a lovely way to release the week and usher in a peaceful Shabbat. All are welcome. There is a suggested donation of $2-$5 to cover the cost of the rental space. There will be some cushions, yoga mats and bolsters, and folding chairs available, but if you prefer your own seating, please bring it with you. (Please note that we have been asked not to park in the parking spots on the side of Rose Yoga, or directly in front of the building, but there is plenty of parking across A Street, and by the park.)

We also offer daylong and multi-day silent retreats. Rabbis Benjamin Barnett and Joshua Boettiger lead a yearly retreat, and Zoketsu Norman Fischer comes up to Ashland once a year to lead a day-long sit (he just taught his fourth such retreat here this past July).
